Health Career Access Program
The Health Career Access Program provides a path for applicants with no health care experience to get hired and receive on-the-job training.
In order to meet eligibility requirements for the Health Care Support Worker position under the Health Career Access Program, applicants are required to complete a number of pre-requisite courses, some of which may come at a cost to the applicant.
These pre-requisites may vary for each applicant, but include: FoodSafe, Standard First Aid/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and English language proficiency testing. There is an opportunity for funding to pay for these admission pre-requisites
- HCAP Pre-Requisite Stipend Eligibility: One-time payment of $342.00 will be paid through the Health Match BC Choose2Care Program (HEABC) to qualified HCAP applicants based on eligibility criteria.
