You must audition on your instrument or voice. Instruments we accept are guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, voice, saxophone, trumpet, mandolin and violin/fiddle.
There are specific audition requirements for each instrument/voice, which you can request from the music department. Remember, you are only two years away from entering the music profession, so you should be reasonably proficient on your instrument or voice when you enter.
Please note: Vocalists must have some form of accompaniment for their audition.

Music Theory
At your audition, you will be tested on your knowledge of music theory. This test will cover the rudiments of music, equivalent to Royal Conservatory Level 8 Theory. Topics you will need to know are the musical staff and notation, scales (all major and minor in treble and bass clef), intervals and time (simple and compound), including rests.
In addition, an ear training test will be administered to determine if you can match pitches and distinguish major from minor chords.
